Hydrating Tropical Winter Smoothie

A bright, nourishing blend to keep you glowing all winter — finished with a little Krunch.

Winter always feels like a season where my body asks for extra hydration, glow, and grounding. And while I love a cozy drink this time of year, I also crave something bright — something that reminds me of slow island mornings, warm weather, and that “light but fueled” feeling before a long run or surf session.

This hydrating tropical smoothie is the blend I’ve made for years. It’s simple, refreshing, and packed with nutrients, and it always leaves me feeling energized instead of weighed down. The best part? A sprinkle of Kanahele Krunch on top for texture, sweetness, and that perfect krunch to keep you energized throughout whatever you’re getting after..

Why I Love This Smoothie

It supports hydration (thank you, coconut water), gives your skin a winter glow, and fuels movement without feeling heavy. I drink it:

  • before morning runs

  • after strength sessions

  • on slow Sunday mornings

  • or as a midday snack when I need something nourishing

It’s tropical, bright, and grounding — the perfect winter balance.

Ingredients

  • A handful of frozen pineapple or mango
Brightens, hydrates, and gives that tropical glow

  • A handful cup fresh spinach
Adds vitamins + supports natural collagen production

  • ½ avocado
Healthy fats + vitamins A, C, and E for deep skin moisture

  • Coconut water (I like my smoothies thick, so I add this as I blend)
    Natural electrolytes + hydration

  • 1 scoop protein powder (optional)
Adds staying power — great for pre- or post-workout

  • Kanahele Krunch, for topping
Adds the perfect krunch + sweetness

How to Make It

  1. Add the fruit, spinach, avocado, and coconut water to a blender.

  2. Blend until smooth and desired consistency.

  3. Add protein if you’d like a little more substance.

  4. Pour into your favorite glass and finish with a generous sprinkle of Kanahele Krunch.

The krunch brings everything together — light, sweet, and the best little energy boost.

Tips + Variations

  • Use Greek Yogurt instead of Protien Powder for a protien boost.

  • Swap mango for pineapple (or mix both)

  • Swap the avocado for a frozen banana if you don’t have one on hand

  • Use almond milk instead of coconut water for a creamier version

A Little Closing Aloha

This smoothie keeps me rooted in that island-morning feeling, even when the Bay is foggy, cold, and deep into winter. I hope it brings a little lightness to your morning routine — and a little krunch to the top of your glass.
