Logbook: Vol. I

Forestville, California

Some places make you feel at home before you've even unpacked your bag.

Tucked beneath the redwoods along the Russian River, River Bend Resort is one of those places.

Vintage campers, canvas tents, hidden trails, and a riverside beach create the kind of weekend that reminds you how little you actually need.

The best part, though, is the people. River Bend is family-owned by a Marin family with deep ties to Hawaiʻi, making it feel like the perfect place for Kanahele Krunch to call home. From the moment I arrived, there was an unmistakable sense of aloha—welcoming, laid back, and rooted in community.

I spent the afternoon wandering the property, floating the river, flipping through The Surfer's Journal beneath the trees, and exploring a place that somehow feels worlds away while still being just a couple of hours from home.

One of my favorite parts of building Kanahele Krunch has become the places it leads me. Every retailer has a story, and every stop introduces me to people who are passionate about creating experiences worth sharing.
River Bend is one of those places.

Whether you're staying in one of their vintage VW campers, glamping beneath the redwoods, or simply spending the afternoon by the river, it's the kind of destination that reminds you to slow down and appreciate where you are.

I'm grateful to have Kanahele Krunch on the shelves of their General Store, and even more grateful for the friendships this little business continues to create.

Until the next stop.
